That same year, Rio Tinto invited Dr A.K to become the dentist for Tom Price and Paraburdoo and Pilbara Dental & Implant Centre was born. The practice expanded to Newman in 2017 to serve the BHP community after the town lost its only dentist, and to South Hedland in 2019 in response to growing demand for specialist services including implants and oral surgery. In 2025 we opened our doors in Karratha, and in 2026 in Narrogin.

Pilbara Dental & Implant Centre has now become Outback Dental - because the vision is no longer one region. It's to bring top-class dental care to all of outback Australia. Same team. Same promise. A much bigger map. Across more than 40 years of practice, Dr A.K worked to change the perception of dentistry - introducing painless techniques and building a culture of warmth and genuine care. That ethos, "Serve, Love, Give," remains the foundation of every clinic we open.

Now fully retired from clinical work, Dr A.K serves as CEO of the Outback Dental Group, ensuring our dentists continue to deliver the full spectrum of general and specialist care - from Invisalign and smile makeovers to wisdom teeth surgery and dental implants - wherever outback communities need them.
